Carrier Sales Representative

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our team as a Carrier Sales Representative. Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and trucking companies, ensuring a reliable and efficient transportation network for our produce and other goods.
  • Negotiate competitive rates and contracts with carriers to optimize pricing and secure cost-effective transportation solutions.
  • Monitor carrier performance, ensuring adherence to service level agreements, and promptly addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Collaborate closely with our operations and customer service teams to coordinate shipments and ensure smooth delivery of goods.
  • Continuously expand our carrier network by actively prospecting and onboarding new carriers to meet customer demand and enhance service capabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to transportation logistics.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both carriers and customers, promptly addressing inquiries and resolving any challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience in carrier sales or freight brokerage, with a solid understanding of logistics and transportation operations.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills to effectively interact with carriers and customers.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think on your feet to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software applications.
  • Familiarity with the produce industry and knowledge of industry-specific requirements will be advantageous.
